Metal Detector wanted for beginner ?

My mate and his wife want to start detecting after seeing and hearing all my stories on finds lol

He is on a budget and just wants a basic to learn, just like we all did when we first started.

So im after a Garrett ace 250 or Xterra 305 - Possibly a second hand Pinpointer Garrett or Minlab too

Garrets easier to get great finds with from first get up and go.
Going off mine and my interpretation of P305s experience with his 305,... he does the get up and go with it now though, but I reckon the learning curve with the ACE250 is much quicker than with the Minelab 305, the 305 being harder to crack for a newchum because of its setup, and the having to think numbers as well as learning to detect at the same time.
