Hi everyone,

Here in Tassie, which is home, I use a resource called LISTmap to overlay anything from land tenure to geology to natural hazard designations over detailed state maps: http://maps.thelist.tas.gov.au/listmap/app/list/map

Is there a similar resource for QLD that also overlays land tenure over maps? I'll be up around Townsville / Craters Towers from the middle of next week and would love to find out where I can and can't go detecting.

Thanks!

Thanks, I have no issues finding out old mines, tenements, alluvial areas, etc. What I want to know is whether a particular area is unallocated crown land, or owned by council, or private freehold, pastoral lease, etc.

In Tassie I can use LISTmap to overlay things such as land tenure over the State maps. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a QLD equivalent. I'll be in and around Townsville till end of next week and trying to do my research...

I finally found something that states the tenure(crown land or not) and it's listed in one of the earlier posts on this site: https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=6382

or to go directly to the link: http://www.dnrm.qld.gov.au/mapping-data/queensland-globe

It seems to work well though I've yet to check it out on the ground. As a bonus if you click on a land parcel you can make a smart map that you can print out of the area to show anyone that you do in fact know where you are and that they have no right to kick you off. It runs in google earth so it's easy to use, just make sure to turn on the layers you need, oh and it's free(well paid for via our taxes).
