Just going through my coin finds and wondered how the coins I found have ended up
being mangled.

Top coin is a half penny.
Bottom left is a 5c piece.
Bottom right is a a 1c.

Have a few of half chopped 1c pieces I will post these latter.

Have any you like to share?

I found these are caused by mowers as stated. Find a number cut up also.

This is my most mangled

I love how the letters have been flattened out, but remained legible.

What do you think might have happened to it?

Mowers seem to love $2 coins for some reason, also pictured are a 2c on the top right, 10c & 1c on the bottom.

Looks like a very dodgy attempt at a coin ring

Placing the coin over a steel pipe using a centre punch to "roll" the coin into a dome

This is a long shot but it wouldn't be the first failed coin ring I've seen

Just my thoughts I have plenty of failed coin rings to share if interested
