does anyone have any information on this place? what can be found in this area? its north of drake so im thinking gold but maybe gems as well. going out that way this afternoon to levuka 4x4 park camping.

From memory the state forest map shows a few old mines. Try the creeks between Paddys flat and Tabulum or the Lunatic workings or even the Cataract River.

rain was pelting down on Saturday so we didn't stop on the way thru. just gives me another excuse to go up there again, fantastic country around there.
