When you say "prospecting" are you referring to crevicing/panning/sluicing for gold or gemstones in creeks and rivers, or to metal detecting?
That's the trifecta!
There's plenty of info here on PA about all of those activities, plus members who'll be able to provide good advice too. You may well find yourself busier in retirement than when you were working.

I have just spent 2 days at 3 Creeks Gold Mine in Upper Bingarra.

Great to see that you are having lessons on how to pan for gold as this a technique that you will have to master to enjoy this hobby. I've posted a video on how to pan for gold with WalnLiz on this forum and it is targeted at the beginners like yourself.
