How often do to do a clean out on a sluice box?

Hi guys,
Ive just recently got into sluicing, but how often do you do a clean out of your sluice box?
I have a 45 inch Jobe Yellow Jacket Sluice, but have no idea when to do the clean out? 2 buckets? 10 buckets? 50 buckets? etc?

If you have a decent water flow on that river sluice and keep your material classified down to no more than 1/4" then you should be able to run it all day without a clean out. If your water flow isn't strong enough to clear the riffles properly then a cleanup will be necessary once the riffles become blocked. Water flow will be your determining factor....Cheers Wal.
