3. RESTRICTIONS ON MATERIAL TAKEN

The following limits apply on the amount of material that can be taken per person during any single 48-hour period:>

10 kilograms of mineral-bearing material (containing gold or gemstones)>

5 kilograms of minerals (other than gold or gemstones)>

5 nuggets of 10 grams or greater of gold>

50 grams of gold (except where found as nuggets of 10 grams or greater)>100 grams of gemstones

That makes water very expensive? The most gold in California is in the Northern Mountain regions were water is more plentiful and thats why hydraulic sluicing was
widespread almost seems to be an exaggerated statement about water been that expensive.

Though a documentary in the 1980s about Western Australia stated that water in the goldfields of WA was very scarce and worth its weight in gold
