Whilst walking through bunnings I saw 20lt buckets with lids about $14 each.
I have access to 10 and 15lt buckets with lids that I would be happy to help other members with.
They need a rinse and if you don't like the stickers you can use some thinners to remove. I have converted some to sieves. Drill heaps of holes in the bottom or put some mesh in the bottom. Great cause the 10lt fits perfectly inside the 15lt and not as bulky as the 20lt especially when filling with paydirt !

Send a pm if you need some. I'm in south east Melbourne
Cheers

Cheers Jaros,

After the wealth of info I have received from reading members posts here.

I made some sieves and thought others might like some buckets too
The 10 and 15lt are more user friendly than the 20lt. Also if a bit older or are finding it harder to navigate the riverbeds

I would be Glad to give something back to TEAM PA :D

Very generous offer GG. Check out Ag Man's topic on bucket sieves. They are simple to make and the mesh can be changed easily if damaged. :D

Thanks Ramjet,

I had seen the link above but didn't have the time to make it. The car was running :) so put the bucket with the mesh together in 2 minutes with what I had. Bucket, mesh, snips and 2 cable ties. Works a treat with the gauge mesh I had and the fine stuff washes easily from the approx 10mm lip left in bottom of bucket.

Cheers

I have shown pics step by step. From start to finish is about 15 minutes. I will add Pics for my 3 stage sieve system.
If you have a few buckets these are easy to make also can change mesh if needed without gluing or too many tools.

Hope you enjoy!

:) ...... I made this and then found that :D

those buckets can be found at most bakerys.. the cream/icing/fillings come in them... goldy,s got it nailed.. :)

Sorry this should have been posted in the DYI section.
The end result is the fine flour gold holding material. Don't laugh, my sniffer bottle is only 30ml pocket size but does the job. Got heaps of these if anyone wants some.

The bucket with the holes drilled holds up to approx 8mm material and gets panned off at digging site. Leaves the flour gold for home and the kids find some colour in the pan.

Buckets are plentiful where I work. The 10lt and 15lt are the same diameter so when the 10lt goes into the 15lt it leaves a good distance for the fines to sit at the bottom.
