After a bit of info on Diverticular Disease / Diverticulitis , week three and 3rd course of antibiotics with no improvement , not bad when lying out flat but feels like someone stabbing you in the guts when moving about , as for bending over and digging a target forget it which is the most annoying thing of all. At least the cricket is on :D with all the members on here assume someone may have had an experience.

Getting Old Sucks

I agree with you, On Monday I lifted a Guitar Amp up high with one hand, Early hours of Tuesday morning about 2 AM I woke up with pains between my shoulder blades, when I got up in the morning I then knew that I had torn the muscles between my shoulder blades and my chest with the pain to match, The Brain is young but the body over took it some where along the track, That morning I realized that I am not super man. lol

Get well soon Bacchus, Thinking of ya mate,

John

Lets hope they knock em on the head, but so far this week I saw Kiwis kicking arse, the All Blacks and the N.Z bred cup winner, surely cant make it 3 this week

No biggie at all , blood test has already ruled out the nasty one associated with the bowel , just hoping someone may have had it at some time and give an idea of how long it takes to get rid of it , I'm not real good at laying around.

Thanks for the kind thoughts , your a great mob

Cheers

Not a very nice experience Bacchus
I suffer from G.O.R.D gastro oesophageal reflux decease and Irritable bowl syndrome IBS.
I also have episodes of gastritis from time to time that lay me up and send me off to hospital when it kicks off the other two problems.
Feels like i'm having a heart attack with all the same or similar symptoms , which used to be a very scary experience.
Some things you learn to live with because you have no choice just follow every thing your specialists say to do and
Most of all don't stress to much as that can exacerbate the problem.
If it was a choice between watching cricket and watching paint dry
I think I would read a book

Cheers for that Goldtruck was hoping that was the case , guess my diet of mainly meat and potatoes less the potatoes doesn't help Frank ! Sounds like a balancing act for you Nucopia hope you can manage it ok mate .

Ps Goldtruck , after noticing your signature reckon our wives are related :)

Had it for about 4 to 6 weeks before it laid me up big time...

12 days in hospital on drips and heavy pain killers and a mix of heavy antibiotics.

The a mix of same and another 4 weeks at home.

Then a Head and Tails ( North / South) and also found a polyp on my voice box = Surgery

Conclusion:

Do not get OLD.

Food: All food is good once the inflammation is over. But make sure you have a health mix and some good roughage. I still have lots of nuts and other stuff that many pages say to stay away from.

Nuts etc not so good when inflamed, but all good once back to normal.

I now drink lots more fluid and the 3 attacks I have had, have happened after extended periods of poor diet and lack of fluids and in two cases mild heat stroke / dehydration..

Bloody Metal detecting has a lot to answer for...

I now drink even when not thirsty when detecting or out bush or working.. More number one's but feel better for it.

Bacchus what happens is the food will get trapped in little pockets of the intestines,so meat and fine food gets trapped, and there starts the problem.
My wife has this problem and she has to be careful.
Regards Frank

G'Day

My wife has had it. First need antibiotic then change of diet. No seeds or nuts, no white bread, no carbs, tomatoes, chilli, capsicums. Eat white meet not red so fish and chicken. No berries or fruit with small seeds

We went and got a vitamix and make smoothies that means much of the stuff above like small amounts of tomatoes and berries and seeds and nuts can be smashed to hell and gone so those things don't get stuck in the little intestinal pockets. Forget any other machine as they might be cheeper but don't do as good a job.

A mate of mine recently had a perforated bowel due to Diverticulitis, he was on antibiotics and in hospital for 3 weeks, it healed by itself, then went for a colonoscopy which again perforated his bowel at which point he needed surgery and now has had a colostomy bag for 6 months, he is due to go for more surgery to rejoin his bowel in about 2 weeks which will leave him laid up for another 6-8 weeks.

I recommend going to a hospital if there is no improvement soon as you may have a perforated bowel, you do not want to get peritonitis which can be deadly. He was pretty sick with it all.

Hope you get better soon.

DRINK ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR WITH THE MOTHER IN IT.
ALSO, GET RID OF THE CHEAP TABLE SALT (it is bad salt with all the trace minerals killed from high heat treatment) AND EAT THE NATURAL SALT FLAKES LIKE THE MURRAY RIVER PINK SALT FLAKES.

Thanks for advice Swright and UB , bad news about your mate Heatho sounds like there can be quite a variance between cases , reckon the change in antibiotics has started to work much better today :) Doc has booked me in for the camera just to make sure but seems I am no where near as bad as AManagement and your mate , on the plus side lost 4 kgs so not all bad , thanks again.

Funny I get bad reflux and on one ongoing episode I had about two tablespoons a day for a week and it went completely away.
Jon
Yes, that's what the vinegar does. It brings the body's PH level to a neutral level. Just make sure to drink the one with the live cultures in it or the "mother " :)
