This is a true story. Some years ago when dredging was legal, my brother and I used to dredge on the Tanjil River at Willow grove. One particular day we headed off to my favorite spot only to find two guys and their famillies shovelling clay from a high bank on the edge of the river into the cradle. They were making such a mess that we had to move some distance upstream. A short time later we heard someone call out. I went to investigate thinking someone may have been hurt and discovered they had found in the clay a nugget the size of the palm of your hand. By the end of the day they had found another nugget the size of a matchbox. Those were the days!
