@rc62burke, g'day mate, sorry for the delay.
Don't spend a lot of time on these forums these days.

Basically the EQ Spirit has 3 primary options for audio. ( as far as I know)

1 Plug your speaker or headphones into the EQ Spirit battery directly. ( Note the battery is velcro'd to the control box)
Same as normal except the power cable is short as it loops from the battery to the detector, the audio cable from the battery then is still connected between you ( Speaker Headphones etc) and the detector. Not much different to stock standard, ie you can't put the detector down and dig the nuggets freely as you still have a cable between you (headphones) and the detector..

2 Buy a set of wireless headphones that communicate wirelessly to the EQ Spirit battery ( more expense) possibly the best option as there are no LOOSE cables, just a short 200 mm power cable from the battery to the detector. As the battery and the detector are velcroed together, you can put the detector on the ground , walk across to your dig hole and dig without any cables floating around to get in your way. (Audio and detector still active wirelessly)

3 Buy the EQ Spirit Link (which is an optional item) it's a small module which is self powered ( needs to be charged ). You plug your speaker into the module, attach the module to yourself, ( pocket , backpack, etc). The module then wirelessly communicates with the battery mounted on the detector. So you still have a skinny speaker cable floating around your body that catches on whatever you happen to be walking through. It works ok, but the totally wireless audio would be the go IMHO...
