Best detector for scanning land for gold?

Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on the best detector available to scan a large block of land for gold, I have been looking at the Minelab GPX 5000 , is this truly the very best available? If price wasn't a factor would everyone be using one of these while prospecting?

if your in Australia, yes because they handle our ground the best
I buy my equipment because of what they can do regardless of price and that's what I use.
but you may not need a 5000 if the soil you want to detect is not very hot or mixy or if it's shallow.
more info about what type of ground you want to detect may get you a better answer
