Tathradj said:Fantastic find there mate.
Not being rude or trying to jump on your patch but roughly what area did you find it.
Tathradj said:LOL, There are a lot of mountains out there.
What state is it in. ?
What Do you Think About It !Tathradj said:Ahhh, I was thinking different place other than Australia.
If that is what it is then you have a very important find there.
I thought It was a painted rock at first but google sais that in recent years many finds have been made from 1990s onwards from Mars and scattered everywhere over Morocco so ill take it as a legit find. It is though a lot cleaner than most but even if I tried I doubt I could attempt a fake meteorite to look that genuine.Tathradj said:May I ask that this has been a certified find.?
It just looks to good to be true.
AtomRat said:You have a piece of Mars..that's amazing. Great find!!!
AtomRat said:If what you say is true and you found it in Morocco then yes its a very high probability. They are usually found on the flat plains but I would see why they would not be in the mountains either. As Dr.Duck suggested, show it to a forum who knows more about meteorites unless someone here knows a lot about it all
Tathradj said:High nickle content would take care of the rusty look.
And all the edges are rounded.
It does not look like the latest examples but the area is famous for these types of finds.
The flat cleavage plate that the magnet is stuck too has me thinking.
.
Does the magnet stick to other area's of the sample.?
.
Sorry but we are very suspicious of these type of examples. If it is what it is then it is worth many many thousands of dollars and we do not allow
any type of bad advertising in here.
