Where to Gold Pan near Between Geelong and Maryborough

If you do find a spot with pools of water be very careful. The old wiggly sticks are out in full force. I learnt the hard way when I was recently bitten by a tiger snake UNDER the water. I'm still recovering :(

    Dream mat

I use a Dream Mat in my river sluice and highbanker. Minimal cons and it traps the smallest specks. I haven't tried other mats so my opinion is not much use but I wouldn't bother trying anything else now. I love it.

    Hi everyone!

G'day Paul, Welcome to the forum. I used to frequent Daylesford quite a bit so maybe I'll bump into you one day. I do most of my panning in Sailors Creek at Twin Bridges. No luck detecting as yet... I recently tried to broaden my search for greater returns and had a run in with ole Joe Blake...

Back after a break from PA with a tale to tell...

Thank you so much guys for your kind thoughts, words and empathy. I know I can push through this dark period again as I have many times before. My wife is one of a kind, she can put up with my crap for a start :) We both love each other to bits and need each other to get through life. We are...

Back after a break from PA with a tale to tell...

G'day fellow PAers, I'm back on the forum after a break and I thought I might write about how 2017 has been treating me so far... (Forgive my bad spelling, grammar, jumbled thoughts and ravings. At the end of this post, if you get that far, you will understand why I'm a bit stoopid) After the...

4 hours 8 buckets is it worth it?

Mate, if you are having fun out in the creek I would say it is worth it. I usually average about 0.1g for a few hours work but every now and then I get lucky. My best so far was 2.5g in four hours panning and carrying buckets 100m to a pool of water. If I am just getting flakes I move around...

Yabby pump and crevice sucker attachment

G'day all, anyone got aforementioned items for sale? I would prefer someone in Victoria so I can pick up with cash on receipt of items. Thanks, Malcolm.

    Brian_au gone walkabout?

I did not send any money thankfully. I'm not that stupid, usually :D Good to hear someone got their gear. I agree with LGH, he seems like a really nice guy. I hope nothing bad has happened to him and he just changed his mind. Would have been nice to know though. Oh well, looks like this...

    Brian_au gone walkabout?

A while back this Brian guy offered a bunch of stuff for sale. I snapped up the Yabby pump with crevice fitting and a bunch of pans. I arranged pick up from Bendigo but that didnt happen after waiting around for hours. I have messaged via the forum and by phone on numerous occasions over the...

    Got the snip today.

It makes extra-marital activities (with the wife's permission) so much less stressful ;) A raincoat and Viagra and its all hands on...deck... :D :D :D As an aside, someone I know had it done after three. New missus wanted one, he reversed it. Turns out it was her problem...after she left him...

    Got the snip today.

Congrats dude. It was the best thing I have ever done. I was skipping around straight out of hospital. No matter how bad it hurts, it's nothing compared to the pain that comes from letting one of those swimmers loose ;) Enjoy the peas and quiet.

    New spot

Well done mate. Maybe the spot is just too obvious for people to try. They probably hike a k or so down the river Most of my best spots have been right under people's noses in the most obvious, well trodden paths. Best bet is to spend a good day or two hitting it hard before others cotton on...

What do you do for work ....

I work. Self-funded dole bludger for a year or so and now living the dream on an adventure camp as a maintenance man. I work hard (optional) and then get paid to prospect on site in the river or on quartz riddled hills or I take the Aldi out to find coins. Today we knocked off early, drank...
