Bummer, nothing worst than trying to pry a coin out of roots or a confined space. Sometimes my impatience gets the better of me in those situations. :(

yeah,..it must have fallen into a crack, as the tree must have been cut off at ground level before 1966 for it to get into where it was. All I was doing was prising the bits of timber out of the crack in the base to widen it for the pointer to get in a bit,...but it was all a bit too much for the 3d.

Thought I better post the other interesting things I found today as well as the above coins.

I also found this square nail,..it's about 2 & 1/2 inches long(bent with the end broken off).
1418044334_sam_6884.jpg

The long square pin is a steel one with a blade type screw driver end(not a screw driver though),...big enough to use with a cross.

I think this bit could be part of a fence(not sure).

And here is the business part of an old kerosene lamp(where the wick went through).

And there is this thing that I don't have a clue about.
1418045046_sam_6886.jpg

1418045088_sam_6887.jpg

And a towel hook(I think).
1418045448_sam_6897.jpg

My favourite bit would have to be the spray end for either a fire extinguisher(old mate recons) or a fire hose(industrial looking).
1418045258_sam_6892.jpg

the end where it hooks on.
1418045308_sam_6893.jpg

the end where it sprays out.
1418045385_sam_6894.jpg

These are two photos of the side near the spray end,...there is a word on it.

1418046106_sam_6896.jpg

only a couple of the coins were found near this stuff,...and they had no connection with it what so ever.

Got out for a little while today,...not much about the beach,....just a ring,....and a 1977 dog tag in good nick,....my young fella got the first find with a sunbaker 20c piece(not even using a detector) and the only other coin was a $1.00 year 2000 and that was just in off a carpark area.

1418125771_sam_6972.jpg

that's 925 silver.
1418125841_sam_6989.jpg

that year 2000 $1.00 coin
1418125909_sam_6969.jpg

It might not be the mule,...but I ain't giving up looking.

mate is it the coinmaster or the garrett ace that's pulling all those coins?

Think I found a ring just like that, must be a pretty common design. Am about to head down to the sand myself for a bit of a detect, not expecting much though.

Joe, it's the Ace 250 doing all the work. ;)

It's an ACE250 Joe,...I can personally vouch for that,....the coinmaster only comes out when any of the young fellas want a tag along to detect,..it still pulls coins among junk on discriminate though,...good enough for a bit of fun for them when they aren't too serious.

thats an amazing find there mate! the medallion. and druggo? just a plant bud. not like a synthetic made drug that are screwing with youths head these days (prescribed anti depressants).

you should clean the medallion up will look good i think

Ha, I'm that old even tobacco users are druggos,..I'll have to change my attitude and get with the times,...I should of said"some cool hemp user would have been fretting over the loss of their pride and joy" there ya go TM is that a bit better said. One day I'll have to have a go at cleaning all my medallions up and framing them in one group. And yes I agree with you on the synthetics and the outcomes from using them(wouldn't see me using either though),..poor buggers wouldn't(synthetic users) have the brain capacity left to properly enjoy life the way it was meant to be.
