Are you customising a rear loader to attach to your tow bar or is there a proprietary system you have in mind?
Have been looking around at options for a postie bike for the in-laws but the wide wheels on yours looks like it would have better stability. Would you steer them towards a t-Rex and do you know if they are road registrable in all states?

Road registrable in all states mate and attached to the tow bar via a Mo-Tow. They only weigh 93kg and go anywhere. Total "On Road"
cost for them is $2650.

Skid plate and decent (well better than the crap i was using) headphones. Toot toot going like a train. Gloves because the old fingernails are about done in the clay and gravel beds and some punchplate to replace the bottom in my classifier that sadly decided to fail on good ground. Makes you wonder if it ever ends. I'll be 111 before the finds value outweighs the gear payout figure. Keep telling myself got to buy good kit. Old habits die hard.

are you going to make a support cradle for the GPX and where will you mount it ?
If you drop the bike in the sand somewhere it needs to be in a spot that has some protection
you cant use a vertical cradle behind you coz if there was something sticking up from the ground then the detector would cop a smack
having it next to you wouldnt work as your body weight would fall onto it if you dropped the bike on that side
putting a cradle between the handlebars might be better so you can see it hasnt fallen off , the detector could hang out over the front wheel with the control box sitting back just above the handlebars ?
at least if the bike was dropped the handlebars would protect the detector but downside is if you run in to something in front of you like a camel or ayers rock then the coil gets a hit ( unless you slide the shaft up each time youre in transit )

I use a custom made sling like a soft Banjo case and sling it over the back....never been a problem mate and is quite comfortable. If I find that nugget you put in the back I'll just leave the detector over there for the next bloke to find and head strait home.
