Are you looking for gold specifically or detecting for relics?
That's a lot of area to cover & you would need to check with local authorities such as Council & other land managers I would think.

Why not. It's AUSTRALIA!

Believe it or not. I was once told by a geologist at a mine i once worked at that if you mined alongside the highway all the way from Perth to Darwin using the latest technology you would find gold all the way.
