I remember all the apemen diggings and photographs of thier skulls and attempts of reforming muscle and tissue form from a face off the bone structure models when I was real young sinking my face into hundreds of National Geographic magazines. They have always amazed me

One of the best quotes I have come across,
"If it wasn't for the Dark Ages, We would be living on the Moon now"
Human evolution is fascinating to me. My family is involved with the
Gold Genetics Team of Australia and what may be coming in future test''s
is some thing I am very keen to see.

More about the Rising Star Cave finds and their significance. While some basic details have been known for while, the scientists have kept very quiet about the significance of it all, pending the release of the National Geographic doco. This was posted a few hours ago.

Got anything with more text dr duck?
Took me ages to read as it got me hooked. Cant really comment too much on it due to forum rules on certain subjects but the finds from the cave and nearby are certainly very interesting and I hope they get it all dated :)

Interesting post, RJ. Human evolution is a topic I take an active interest in. There is very big news breaking right now about a fossil site in South Africa. More details to come:

Yes human I volition is fascinating. The thought that other species of human like creatures were around and even interred with us is amazing.

More on the "new" species. http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/new-species-human-discovered-south-africa

Just heard about the discovery today on the radio. The said they've only dug out about 1x1x.5 meter of the floor in few months. Looks like they need some of us detectorists to help out.

Had chat to my bro about this as he's a some kinda edumacated doctor of bugs n stuff ( really) that's why when I took him detecting for the first time with sdc he found twice as much as me, really patient and slow. Gotta learn from that.
