Hill End common has good facilities and a stroll around town looking at the photo panels of the ruins is a good way to start a morning. The hill end visitors centre has a map of the camping spots, not sure if you can access them on line.
I would highly recommend the mining museum on the hill End / Sofalla Road, a couple of kms out of Hill End. It has an amazing collection of period artifacts.
There are some camping spots on the river at the base of the Bridle Track, an interesting drive that will test out the passenger's JC bar if you have one.
