Going to the local cop shop when i turned 16
to get my drivers licence, the copper told me
to drive around the block while he stood on the
verandah, no questions and gave me my licence.

I remember this as if it happened yesterday. On the 14th of Feb, 1966, mum gave me a penny. Put it into a gum machine and turned the handle. Out popped a pack of juicy fruit gum. Mum said that this will be the first and last time that you will buy something with a penny. She was right. Clever girl my mum.
 
I actually met him in person.
He came to our School on a traveling road show.
He is one of my main inspirations.

After Sumner Miller there was another Professor Menzel I think, had a goete beard without the moustache and I think it was called the Summer of Science ( just what you want to watch on holidays but very informative).

WE MIGHT HAVE BEEN NEIBOURS . I lived in a rusted out rain water tank right next to a family who lived in a shoebox .
 
What about Zorro,77Sunset Strip, did anyone mention Bonanza!..or the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.. Rawhide, the Rifle Man, The Untouchables, Adventures in Paradise, I love Lucy.Or those famous words by Bruce Gyngell...I think it was..."good evening, and welcome to Television" :cool:
