I thinks that's not right Kleinman, I spotted that today too. Never noticed it in the 2years I've had it. A chainsaw has that kind of rating... This is nothing like that sound of loudness.
it's not a real noisy thing at 1/4 - 1/2 throttle.
Flat out it'd be anoying tho.
It'll be good to compare pumps with others too. Noise/flow/cost & weight of the different units people have.

Started work on the "Megabench" today. Final size will be 1200 wide. 1800 long and 918 high. On castors so it can be moved. I pulled apart the table saw bench and fitted the saw into one end. The other end will get a home made cabinet makers style vice and the long edges will get bench dog rails. A few pics for your enjoyment.

A few holes in the rails

I need more clamps. The handles on my long ones broke off so had to make a couple of stretcher blocks. I need more clamps !!

Ready for the saw fence rail and top to be fitted.. nearly there. The top will be the sheets of 15mm ply. I have cut one to shape around the saw. my jigsaw has issues cutting straight lines even with a guide. so i used the router to cut the saw hole out. One more top to cut. then screw top down and done.. more to follow

I present "Megabench"

1800mm long, 1200mm wide, rip capacity 565mm, router can be mounted in the table saw top,

Just have to extend the table saw mitre slots so the jigs can go all the way trough,
Make a few drawers for the bottom with the 600 x 1200 leftover top,
Finish of the dust collection for the TS and Router,
Give the top a sand and couple of coats of satin poly.

THEN finally clean the garage to the wifes standard!

Cheers, Tone

Well, I had some more time in the garage today, I made a rail system for the Megabench and ended up making my own bench dog and wonder dog..

The rail system is made of Pine and the spacer blocks are the old table saw top! Laminated ply, I think this will be replaced with some hard wood when time is available and I get the timber.

The dogs are 3/4 Tasmanian Oak, the face for the Wonder Dog is New Guinea Rosewood off cut I had laying around, the rod is only 1/4 threaded rod, there is a bit of flex in the rod when tightened but it holds ok, this should be fixed when I make another one out of 3/8 Steel rod, as this was really a prototype, it will do for know.

The rail system plan came out of issue 136 of Shopnotes magazine, I made up the Dogs using inspiration from a few on line stores, at $70.00 plus for the same thing, I think I have achieved a nice saving.

Anyway, here are some pics for your enjoyment, please feel free to comment, thanks for your interest.

You should be able to figure out how these are used from the pics.. great for planing or routing a workpiece
Cheers, Tone

Hi Tone, my father was a carpenter / joiner and on weekends we would either be installing sash windows in houses or unit blocks around Melb. or
he would make full length carpenters workbenches. He got lottsa dollars for them as well.( all on the side).
I hope your workbench performs all that you have designed it for.
Cheers. :p

Still slowly working on the rock, does this still count as "Today I Made" :)
Went out today also and cleaned out a few more crevices and loaded up 12 bkts.
2 Birds with one stone, collecting rocks and a bit of dirt to wash.

A few more rocks, maybe I got rocks in my head but I had a ball anyways, nice and warm too..

Cheers

Brad, when we luved in Melborne, we collected about 30 ute loads of volcanic basalt floaters from around Rockbank and Melton for our garden. Massive effort. I will post a pic when im on the PC next. I didnt have the crevice goodies to offset my time

Cheers Tone

I still have about 50 empty bkts kicking around so I am thinking of getting them all full with 1/2" fines and I should do well out of it.
Might surprise myself.
