Hi folks

We have alot of members here . most of whom can lift a pen or push a keyboard button

that means we also have the power to bring about changes in what exists around us.

who has a gripe or wishlist of things they want to change ?

.

if members want to post issues they would like changed we could nominate a few members who can volunteer a little bit of time to write letters or ring their local MP to request it

dont laugh , they might be politicians and public servants but many of them are humans who dont always have enough work to do , they could be sitting at their desk bored out of their skulls when they get our letter , and they might have unspent budgets they need to splurge on something otherwise they will get a smaller budget next year.

My first one is to get a few of us to write letters to the council responsible for Oallen Forde camping area and lobby them to put in facilities there such as toilets at least so 100 people dont have to walk into the bush every weekend and dig a hole.

Its unhygienic and adds the risk of getting a snake bite on your azz

can we have 3 or 4 peeps to write letters on the above issue ?

Dear Mr / Mrs council staffer

I have camped at Oallen Forde with my kids for many years.

We enjoy the spot for a weekend camp , swim , paddling in our canoes and grandad shows the kids how to pan for gold like they used to in the pioneer settler days

It is quite a popular spot , every time we drive through there is at least 3 or 4 campers there and long weekends or school holidays there can be as many as 7 - 10 camp sites on both sides of the Forde

However there are no toilet facilities there and we wondered if you can advise when you will have the resources to install some in a suitable location ?

Currently everyone has to walk in to the bush and dig a hole which is not very hygienic and not very safe in summer with the snakes about

The two most popular camping spots there are around 100 metres upstream on the hill which would be a good spot for toilets , and the big gravel bar from 100 metres to 300 metres downstream which can get flooded so facilities there would need to be part way up the hill above that area out of reach of flood waters ( most people camp there within 20 - 30 metres of the waters edge )

Please advise

regards

Joe Blough
