that's right it was me....
Contacted by a landline telephone call from a John Felix. His accent was not likely a John Felix accent but another nationality I will add...
Pretended to be from Telstra.
Claimed Telstra was shutting down my internet service (I am not a Telstra subscriber) because of an NBN connection interruption, and that I needed to use a command run file dialogue to access my computer internal operating system to override the 24 hours downtime I was to experience.
I requested his information to provide proof of this action by Telstra where he said his ID was D1097 and his call back telephone is 02 80061694.
He also requested me to use only my mobile telephone to respond to the 02 80061694 as proof of Telstra origin.
Whilst he was detailing his required actions by myself to perform these system amending tasks I googled the telephone number.
Result is here - https://au.unknowndial.com/number/0280061694
His pitch was then skewed to; someone at home in the night time was downloading porn with corrupt files and I also needed his assistance to override the damage done to my computer's internal operating system. He unfortunately for him called my business number which only operates til 5pm....
I had him working hard for nearly 20 minutes, when I advised I was really googling his information.
Our most courteous Telstra operative then said " You M*** F**** F**** Y**** and hung up.
I must add that his phone suffered call centre background noise so it is a live operating scam.
