Maybe, but I wouldn't trust some of the so-called gold specimens on sale via a Google search, without inspecting them personally, preferably in company with an experienced geologist.

For instance, there's an "extremely high grade gold ore specimen rocky mountain ore" for $10K, with no visible gold but plenty of pyrites. Or the "7 Lb Motherload Gold Ore Silver Copper Specimen Rock Awesome Annie's Gold", with plenty of interesting mineralisation but again, no visible gold for $4.5K. You won't learn anything worth knowing from looking at those fanciful pics, IMHO.

That's not GOLD

This rock weight about 3½ Kilos (approx. 120 oz) although not a lot of gold showing the in hand weight said a lot of gold. I managed to get about 17 oz of gold from it. By the way it was about 8 inch in length.
