Snake protection for young kids

Hi im heading up to vic goldfields in a few weeks im worried about snakes and the kids. Have found some gaiters for the young fella, having issues finding something for the daugter shes 7.

Any suggedtions

They are a lot thicker then the one you buy
I had zippers put in mine so i dont have to remove my boots to put them on

Was thinking about a pair of gaiters the other day as we've seen a few lately.
Just looking at the pic on the snakeprotex website I won't be getting those though. As the support strap goes under the foot it would almost mean having to wear a shoe with a heel so that it is off the ground (blundstone boot for eg) and scraping a layer of soil with your boot when detecting would mean a pretty short life for the strap.

I got gaters from the shop and had them on at sunny corner on the weekend to me they were way to thin
Made sure mine gum boot ones went into the turtle as soon as i got home on monday
Wont go anywhere without them from now on
