Pre 1900's Photo Locket???

Found this at an old grain mill at my work that stopped production around 1898. Loads of old broken bottles dating late 1800's/early 1900's and crockery.

Unfortunately all the glass fell out once I opened it...

You can see a little leaf/floral pattern around the edge in the last pic...

Any ideas?
