Ok someone posted a topic and buggered if I can find it now about access around Oallen Ford. For reference now and in the future, attached are the current parish maps for both sides of the river around the ford. Areas not shown with a lot number are crown and I believe the map is current. I checked the database, and no further revisions have been published.

I would be hesitant to use parish maps as current. Most haven't been updated in years - some as long as 60 years. They stopped updating them at all in 2002 & now use computerised systems such as SIX & ArcGIS I believe.
Parish maps are best used now for historical research on an area.
Even if the land shows as crown land you also need to find out what type of crown land it is I.e. crown reserve, under tenure/management etc.
If its under tenure/management you may still need permission to access especially if its under private lease.

Oh I give up. The map is a legend to the lot and parish no. Highlight what is crown land, use it, learn from it, expand from it, or ignore it. Whatever anyone does with it, hope it helps. Personally if you used in conjunction with the mud map I posted earlier, you'd probably find some worthwhile areas to look at, that in their time produced far more the then treasury, golden or the mint at the ford.

Don't give up. I am only stating the facts not having a go at you. Parish maps are terrific for historical research & points of reference. Use them myself & even referred to some that showed a whole town that is no longer there.
As your post was about access around Oallen Ford I just wanted to highlight that they definitely shouldn't be used to ascertain current crown land boundaries, status or accessibility - by themselves.

Saved em to my external drive - thought the pencil notes were great too - thanks.
