I'm New to it !!!!!!

Hi Everyone

My Name is Kimbo...and I am totally new to Gold prospecting.
I am am currently in Innesfail and on my way to Cairns ( or around there ) looking to do a 7 Day prospecting trip.

I have a Metal Detector, Minelab XT17000 model ( I think was manufactured in 1993 ) and gold panning gear.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Under Cairns research you will find a lot of info on the area.
Normally not to much going on with prospecting this time of year due to the heat and middle of the wet season.

Kimbo, I only know what I have read so far, but a piece of common advice is to be active and enthusiastic and don't let it get you down if you find nothing.

Immerse yourself in nature and forget about the daily grind while you can.
