Ive been to the SA mines site with regards to the regulations on 'recreational fossicking' with a highbanker and pump of either electric or petrol power. Like all our regulations its a very gray area. Is it legal to use a highbanker with any pump? Any thoughts or knowledge would be appreciated.

Thats the site I went to. By mechanical means would mean that any pump would be not allowed??? Think I will just give them a ring.

hey whitey, no pumps are allowed i have called and checked
but a sluice can be used provided there is water in the creek hope it helps mate

I have a sluice but just recently made a highbanker but was unsure on if you were allowed a pump. Bugger lol
