Hey crew anyone used Gentrax? Ive heard good things but people always say their geni is great while its running and you ask them out in the field.

seen these on sale 61% off http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/deal?itemId=141310790733

its a 4 stroke and 100% sine-power which I'm told is the best for heavy load, also only 59 db

thoughts?

I might get one before eofy - surely that could be an in the field company expense :)

At $500 you can buy 4 and still have change v's a honda

Might be worth a punt but have not heard of any reports favourable or not

thats what i reckon wally69 my oldman is doing up a bus and I reckon it would do the job for what he wants but dont want to buy him a lemon you know.

Before you buy it find out how heavy it is. The Kipor 2kw is 22kgs and a bit heavy for lugging around the scrub.
This one will be heavier for sure.

a quick search suggests they are a rebranded Chinese xingyue 3kva
quality control is not great so you may end up with a good one but may not
the sound rating is at idle and they are quite a bit louder if there is any load

none of this is from personal knowledge , just what i found poking around the interwebz

um yeah could have been , thought there was mention of it in the whirlpool thread too

I assume the bus is diesel would he not be better off with a diesel genset that he can plumb to the main tank for constant running ?
nothing more annoying then having to fuel up the genny when your half way into a good session at night ;)

Haha yeh its diesel but he also has a gq patrol running petrol and a camper trailer which gets alot more ise than the bus will. Was more the cost benefit to be honest. Yoir probably right thought im pretty sure my uncle had hes plumbed in at the rear of the bus.

I met up with a member of this forum, (nameless without his approval) in May. He bought a similar $400 genny, he got a week out of it on his trip, before it crapped out. The economode didn't work, it was going flat chat all the time, but worse still, no 240VAC output.

He stayed a further 10 days only because he tapped power I was using for my van, to power his camper, from my Honda 2kva.

As I've said before you get what you pay for.

BTW he was ignored by the seller and ended diverting to Sydney to get his money back, which is a huge diversion from Victoria when he lived in QLD.

Buy one of these by all means, I certainly would not.
