Fixing up an old 80's Milland 16ft caravan

It's been a long time since I have been on the site but I have recently picked up a caravan for my folks (and myself ) and she needs a alot of work. I thought I would put the questions out there around renovating the inside of the van. What type of wood is recommended? I'm also looking and trying to make it light as its an oldie without loosing strength. I have also been watching videos of people changing the windows to the sliding type. Where would I find this stuff without being over charged by buying on eBay?
