I saw active service against the Germans in 1914 and the Turks in 1915. I met my demise in April 1915, after the gallipoli landings. I was finally given two awards to recognise my war service in 2010, yes 2010. A housing estate is being named after me. I have Irish, English and Australian connections.

hints:

I left with the second contingent of the AIF from Albany.

My final resting place is in Turkey.

My sister also served in WW1 - she has noknown grave.

The AE2 it is. Well done. Served against the Germans in the pacific in 1914 and then the Turks. AE1, the 'sister' lost in the pacific in WW1 and never found. The AE2 received its RAN battle honours in 2010 and a new defence housing estate will be named AE2. Irish born captain, mixed Australian english crew. Over to you.

OK mate. Here is a nice and easy one.

I served in WW1 in the Australian Army BUT I did not see active service BUT I ended up winning a VC BUT it wasn't in WW1 or WW2 (I was dead by then). Who is this mysterious man.
