Anyone detect around cloncurry?

Just got into town and was thinking to try a bit of detecting to break up the drive over to tennant creek. From what I've read it's not a red hot area for gold with most coming from copper ores. Some alluvial gold in the fisher creek area apparently. Anyone have luck picking up some yellow out this way or is it worthwhile saving my time and moving along. Cheers guys

Top camp may give some but there signs there keep out . the other side cloncurry river at top camp may produce some and you could sneek into topcamp now and then .fisher creek has signs up contact owner before going in there I never been in .The sothern end lake julius has sunday gully buts thats flogged out, the river before sunday gully is Doughboy Ck there a large area in there that has some good possibilities I have found some aluvials in there but the track in is very rough you have make your own road some parts.
