How do you when Albrite that you are using has lost its ability to cleanup/etch into your species?. Also does putting it into the sun (warmth) help the cleanup process?
You should be replacing the Alibrite periodically i.e. dispose of old solution once a week or so & refill with fresh solution. I always pour the old solution thru a stainless steel tea strainer in case any golds broken away.
I don't believe heating it up will help the process any. Alibrite is a slow method. A dolly pot is quicker but doesn't leave your gold looking as nice
Thanks. Definitely slows down the process after a week or so. I am more interested in having the small wire gold stand out a bit more so not interested in smashing them.
Don't forget here's only around 5% HF in Ali Brite, so it doesn't take much reaction with ironstone to significantly use up the acid. In the bottle it should have very long life
