A week off work, PI built - Bendigo area - teach me?

Hi Guys,

I've built myself the Mirage PI with a 10" coil and keen to try it out. I'm off work this week and would like to know if anyone is keen to hook up and possibly show me the ropes in metal detecting somewhere across Inglewood/raywood/kamarooka or other area?

Hi Kleinma98,

I built a Mirage PI which was based on the hammerhead I think. I used the White's two piece arm and cast my own 10' mono coil. Its set up for large and small gold. Air tests give me about 12' for a gold ring which I think is amazing for a DIY kit.

It will work great along the beach but in the goldfields I'm not sure...maybe too much ground interference. The thing is I'm new to all of this so I was hoping for someone who knows a thing or two about detecting to help me learn to use the machine properly.

This is where youtube is your friend and a little of trial and error along the way.

It was a great experience building the kit so fingers x it works fine.
