    Worth crushing?

I think you're right 'dam it', hot rocks can be tracked out but you can't track out gold. Give that a try.

    Broken Hearted

No solitary for this creton. He won't last long in the general population in 'Long Bay'.

DIY Coil Repair - Cracked Nugget Finder Z Search Coil

I have repaired cracked coils before, mainly filling holes in skid plates themselves. Acetone does it for me.

DIY Coil Repair - Cracked Nugget Finder Z Search Coil

The noise from all the scraping would hide a lot of those quieter signals.

Cut up your old skid plate and dissolve it in acetone. It makes the perfect welding (glueing) material. It penetrates the surface of the coil making it one piece, cracks are no more. :perfect: Same colour too.

(WA) Western Australia Tengraph information and questions

'The Island' is not called 'The Island' for nothing, it's surrounded by salt lakes. There is gold on the pending areas west of there but stay on the tracks and stay away if it looks like rain, it is a salt lake. 'The Island' was one of the richest areas in WA. I've had my eye on it for years...

    GPX6000 Vs SDC2300 Sensitivity Test.

There's a lesson there with your 7 grammer; Dig any variation in the threshold, it doesn't have to beep. From what i've read here the timings on the 6000 are directed more at size rather than depth. Its not my topic but thank you all. :Y: :Y:

    GPX6000 Vs SDC2300 Sensitivity Test.

They are specifically designed to detect gold, bird shot is a totally different kettle of fish. I would believe Phil Moneybox if he said he got a 0.1 at 12 inches but some of the claims have me wondering, maybe some people should take a tape measure with them. I'm a bit of a sceptic knowing...

    GPX6000 Vs SDC2300 Sensitivity Test.

I think it does matter Jaros because my 5000 detected a 0.1 at 4 inches. Spending $8000 is a big step for anyone but you're right experience certainly counts. :Y:

    GPX6000 Vs SDC2300 Sensitivity Test.

Sounds like a good comparison Teemore but you didn't say how deep you buried the shot? That would help for anyone considering the 8k, a big step for most of us. Give us another test concentrating on depth please. :/

What's Magnetic, But Not Picked Up By A Metal Detector?

I once had a coil winding like a spring only about 10mm in dia 50mil long but it was copper. I was shocked there was no signal. Not magnetic however.

    DIY Battery pack

These are perfect for the 2100 and half the weight of the lead acid. You'll need the dome top that came with the GP'S it fits straight on, does away with that cumbersome termination block that came with the SD'S. The chargers are not expensive (around $40). Extra voltage does absolutely nothing...
