    Asking for permission

After 21 years I'm giving most of all my finds back to the owners (does open a few doors). If I find a cool buckle, button or coin I like I will ask and generally get to keep it. Your conscious and morals will be a guide as you could always pocket the item. Some people nowadays will be cautious...

'Double Edge Ring' button and 'Paris Solide' buckle

Some think they were mainly suspenders buckles but most were used as waistcoat side strap adjusters. These smaller buckles are generally not strong enough for pants suspenders buckles.

The Forum's Oldest Coin. Round 1.

We had trouble I remember finding the 1856 one on the other forum I'm a member of until someone came through with a 1856 French coin. I will have a look at some of my foreign coins in that time frame.

    Chinese Finds-Button and Tin

Been told the ones I've found were opium lids also. The button is a typical pants/shirt button from the era. Some think they are junk but I love finding them especially with the writing advertising stores on them. You mentioned belt buckle, do you mind posting a pic of it? Go out from the...

    Button Identification

Trevor would be your man. I can say it looks 1800's era. The VR would most likely mean Victoria Regina. Looks like a ships flag but could be an ordinary flag. Haven't seen any military issued buttons in that design so most likely civilian. Nice find.

    new find

Haven't seen one of those jubilee varieties before. There were very many different types made to celebrate that time. I always like the ones with both the young and old head pictured. Nice find.

1860's Wrestling buckle w/ some more goodies

Once again returned to the 'buckle triangle' as someone called it. Most of these came from the heavy ferrous trashed areas. Never saw a wrestling belt before. A couple of the buckles were damaged but gives me a little project to repair before giving back to the landowner.

    Australian History

That was an easy one. They were known as the bloodiest bushrangers and killed 5 police (4 at one time), wounded a few more. They also killed a member of their own gang. The Hall gang were the best thief's and the Clarkes were most prolific killers. Your turn for the question.

    Australian History

Thanks, don't know if this question has been asked. Who was known as the bloodiest bushrangers? The ones that killed the most people.

    Australian History

Mr Joe Byrnes hanging on that door (Benalla I think). He was dragged out in Ann Jones in after dying from blood loss (.577 Matini-Henry police bullet to femoral) and why he wasn't burned. In the 90's spent many a time in the Woolshed detecting a few of his and Aaron Sherritt's old places.
