    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

It was good 5 degrees cooler in the shade by Prospect Creek today than anywhere else. Found a couple of nice gold traps in bedrock too.

    New Aussie tech.

Good luck checking that onto a flight though... :argh:

    Buying mine land

Sorry OP for going off-topic... Lovely bit of country up there. Some of the locals were a bit rough though... but thats going back a few years. I did a lot of reading about gold around Combienbar, years back. Id come across extensive alluvial workings while swinging a rakehoe around the...

    Buying mine land

Ive got a lightly used GM 1000 if youre interested in a swap. Just kidding of course. I am curious to know which creek its on though. East Gippsland is a big area!

Gold Rat Mini Cleanup Sluice / backpack Highbanker

I like these batteries (on paper at least): https://shop.antigravitybatteries.com/products/starter-batteries/small-case/ag-401/ 6Ah in half a kilo (and tiny), or 9Ah in 750g. Im going to pick up the Jaycar one and order the 6Ah antigravity battery to try out.

Gold Rat Mini Cleanup Sluice / backpack Highbanker

Ive had a long, hard week away from home thanks to this beast: https://i.imgur.com/SV3Hb7k_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=high ... so it was great to get home and find the mini sluice waiting for me. Thanks G0lddigg@, and thanks for the gift too! First impressions: its well designed...

Half day prospecting at Coles Bridge, Turondale

Just wait until you find your first picker in a bedrock crack! ;) Its a bloody great hobby. The worst days youll head home with a couple of meagre specks, having seen another nice part of our great country, and feeling a bit fitter and a bit saner for your efforts. Other days youll get lucky...

Sounds like a great day! And how good is it to get that first gold?!

    Found a fork

Im no expert, but thats a very common fiddle back fork design, often found in church halls etc with the silver plate worn through. Even then, it might have a stamp hiding on the back. E.g...

Gold Rat Mini Cleanup Sluice / backpack Highbanker

Thanks for the advice G0lddigg@, and for a peek behind the curtain! I like both variants in your photos. But I think the power sluice will be fine for me... for now. Order placed! I'll buy a cheap bike battery to get me going while I research lithium batteries a bit more.

Gold Rat Mini Cleanup Sluice / backpack Highbanker

I was planning to build a little power head for my 6 Gold Rat sluice, but for the price and specs (adjustable legs etc.) this looks like a better option. Any further feedback or advice from owners? Does anybody know the max voltage the Rule pump will tolerate? Im thinking of powering it with a...

    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Nice gold. Is that the mini cleanup sluice with pump? Ive got the 6 sluice and its great when the creeks run (roughly never here in the last couple of years), so am about to press buy on the mini + pump. Meanwhile, I had a rest day from work, so went crevicing and panning in a new spot that...

A list i made of what i need for prospecting

You wrote small backpack. Youll need at least a 50-60L pack to carry the basics, unless you plan on staying by the car. And if you plan on carrying everything on your list, might need a couple of large packs and a donkey. :P
