Hi all. could someone please post the google earth gold overlay map link (for ipad) i have it on my pc (i downloaded it from this site about 12 months ago) but i now can't seem to find it anywhere and I would really like to get it for a friend who has an ipad. any help would be greatly...

thanks Heatho, and yes, unlike your normal gemstones, opals are so varied.... one stone can look like a totally different stone just by a change in light or holding at a different angle :)

I went and visited my dad in march ( he passed in july) I actually fed a dolphin, it's a beautiful area, though after living in sydney for most of my life, its, lol, very quiet :)

yep :) tin can bay, my dad was living in cooloola cove, just down the road from tin can :)

thanks kemjak :) a friend of mine described my dad (recently passed away) as a "quiet legend" lol, a very fitting description, the "little" things he left behind are exquisite :) I'm hoping next weekend to head out, and take one of his trusty gold detectors and give it a whirl...lol, first time...

another view of the earlier one...i can take a picture of different angles and they all show a different color, even yellow....definitely not selling them, but out of curiosity, are they of any real value?

Thanks Paul..lol, i love looking at his stones (and trying to find out what they are) that he has left me, all that he picked out of the ground over the years.

i think they are possibly opals of some kind..My dad found, cut and polished these.
