    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Thanks mate. Was uphill from some very minor old diggings. I think there’s something in that. Not rich enough for the old timers, doesn’t mean it won’t do for us.

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Was lucky enough to pick up this 5 grammer a couple of weeks ago. Was in exactly the sort of place I always hope to find gold, but never usually do! Good to know and encourage others that there’s still some reasonable sized stuff on crown land in the GT

Probably ironstone. Some areas you can pick up loads of little pieces of what look like gravel on your magnet.

    Coiltek 14" v 11"

Looking at purchasing either the 14 or 11 inch coiltek elite mono for my 4500. Any thoughts on which would be the best of the 2? Detecting in the GT, siding with the 11" to pick up more small stuff, but wondering if the 14" would pick up a lot as well as potentially bigger pieces? Any advice...

    Storing detector

Evening all! Have just bought a new detector, and a new house (big month)! Previously, detector lived in spare room. Now we have a garage, tempting to store the detector out there. Interested to know where people keep their gear! Cheers

    The Mosquitoes Were Out...

Afternoon all! Was out and about at Amherst last week (no colour?) but the worst part of the day was being devoured by mosquitoes through my long sleeved shirt. Any advice for a good repellent? I used high strength bushman but didnt seem to do the job. Cheers!

    GPX 4500

Gday Peter, there's a fairly new 12" NF which is worth about $500 you're right, the others are slightly older 11" coils. Good machines though and as they're no longer sold difficult to get hold of for good prices. Often see them hovering at the $4k mark with extras..

    GPX 4500

Gday guys, I've been offered an early version 4500, with 4 coils, harness and headphones for around 3k.... Opinions welcome on whether this is a reasonable price? Slight concern is no warranty and old machine, but people are still running SD machines so not always an issue. Cheers, happy...

Tossing up on which detector - Nokta Makro Gold Racer, Nokta Anfibio or Garrett AT Pro A

Not sure about this. Each to their own opinions of course, but the GM1000 finds gold in the GT every day I would say, so to discount it so readily would be a big mistake. You do need to get used to the pretty much constant ground noise in some areas though.
