Loving the Simplex so far, fantastic all round treasure detector. The depth is very good and its super simple to use, for the money nothing beats it. My only dislike is the lower shaft flex, maybe an aftermarket one will be available soon. :Y:

I'm a little late on this but I'm saddend to hear of Central West prospecting's closure, I bought my GPX 4500 from them and got a great deal with good old fashioned country service. All the best 8.(

When I was looking at 4500's I found that most of the used ones were only 500 to 600 shy of a new one. Central West prospecting at the time had the best deals by far. Have peace of mind and go for a new one unless the used GPX still has warranty. :D

Hey all, looking at doing a WA gold tour next year, any ideas on when is the best time to go? In terms of cooler climate and minimal rain. Any info much appreciated! ?

I bought a $25 hydration backpack from ebay. Wanted to carry water and my gpx battery. The particular one i bought has a outer pocket the exact same size as the minelab battery. Does the job perfectly, however the bladder inside was crappy quality, but that's easily fixed by buying a better...

I loved them, really struggled with other head phones giving me headaches especially the crap standard minelab ones. The steel phase headphones are super comfy! Gel pads are fantastic The target signals where clean and crisp sounding, back ground noise was very minimal if nothing at all...

Anyone tried or have the new Pro series Headphones from Steel Phase? Makers of the excellent Sp01 audio enhancer. I have bought a set and can't wait to try them this weekend. Very good specs, let you all know how they go but also would love to hear if anyone else has used them. :)...

I love Aussie gold hunters but most of us know that it isn't easy as they show it, sometimes gives false hope to new prospectors. But everyone has to start somewhere and at least the show gives a insight into what's its all about, I'd like to see them shoot a few episodes in the GT or north...

I got the Kings Big daddy. Love it! It great for a good nights sleep after a big day on the detector. Last weekend it was around 5 in the evening at Talbot and the swag was warm inside. I also bought the mesh ground sheet which stops the cold from coming up underneath.

I own the Garrett A/T pro pointer, the orange carrot. Had it for 3 years, no issues at all. It's very rugged, has good sensitivity and it's waterproof rating is excellent.

As a fairly new 4500 user myself I have found the standard 11inch commander very good, it's seems very stable and less likely affected by bad ground conditions. I'm sure my 17 X 13 evo goes deeper but it's a little less smooth running. I found my first gold with the commander so I'm using that...

Normally VLF detectors go crazy out the GT ways. A respected Minelab dealer recently told a mate and I that the GM is useless in the golden triangle, So yeah not sure what's going on. Anyways good luck mate, I'm just confused about the GM, I've heard bad stories and more recently good ones...
