Heading up to Mackay end of next week and will be going out to Claremont on way back. Can anyone let me know if there are any free camp areas (not fan of van parks - love the bush). Have never detected outside of Vic so I understand a QLD fossickers licence as well as fossickers kit is required...
Hi Rose,
We have family property within 5kms of the Mooralla fields as the crow flies and have endured many trips with the kids when they were younger. As far as I know the Mooralla crystals are about the only gems in the area. The track into the Mooralla field is accessible by car and with...
I have the Wranglers also and wouldn't have anything else. Done to Cooper thing - nothing but side wall splits and the BFs lacked in mileage. Wranglers have just clocked 55000 and expect another 10-15000 before being retired to one of my trailers.
Thanks guys. Have heard of the grey ghosts and by all accounts are a good unit. I will investigate the TD-85s. Want to be sure if I'm forking out $250 odd bucks I'm getting the best for the machine.
Has anyone had issues with the supplied Koss headphones for the 5k. I tend to find that I get a lot of movement on my head (maybe my heads out of shape) which i tend to find creates noise and potentially miss out on faint targets. What other brands of headphones are people using with the 5k...
Hi IanSDC,
interested to know your detecting motion. Have read that a slower detecting speed picks up the larger deeper gold. Bendigo guys told us that the SDC can be swung quite fast but wondering if we are missing targets doing this. Heading out tomorrow to try a spot again with a much slower...
Hi Wolfau,
We recently went with a Cub Brumby ($27000) and just returned from the maiden voyage. I thought I had covered all bases in my search for a good camper but even after only one trip we have already a list of needs and wants to suit it to our application. Do your research and have a...
The bride spent a few hours today understanding the ML SDC 2300. Got a couple of small ones out at Whroo with the left of shot being a .075g and the right a .033g. The only way to use this machine is with the headphones as too much is lost through the speaker. Tested the pieces under the 5000...
Yes Martin. We hunted around of a while but found set up time and the camper arrangement best suited to us with this model. After 15 years tenting a little luxury was in order.
Picked up the new "CUB Brumby Camper" today. Can't wait till end start of next month to head bush for some detecting relief. Pictured at front of Bendigo Gold where the bride picked up her new Minelab CTX 3030. I reckon we are even now :)
