Hi guys,
Going camping etc with kids near Oberon in Easter.
Was looking to make up a couple of Sieve/classifiers to help us look for gems etc.
What size mesh is normally used? From what I have read and seen I was thinking 1/4 inch into 1/8.

I will be using materials I find lying around and the DIY bucket method.
Is insect mesh too fine? It appears to have holes 2mm square which is close to 1/8th (3mm)

My first time trying this.... I have searched the forum but did not find an answer in regards to gems.

Thanks :)
Steve

!/4 inch and 1/8th is perfect, 2mm is getting a bit small, you'll see what I mean if you use it, you'll get more micro gems though but it will be harder and take longer to wash each bucket which is a hinderance.
