Hi Fellas,

I will be heading out to the Vic Gold Fields this weekend, first time ever.
My goal is the Chewton/Castlemaine area and who knows I might get lucky.
However, I was wondering about all the different areas up there and that's why I want to ask you guys.
What are your experiences when it comes to picking the right spot. I am not asking about specific locations, just a rough idea.
I have bought all the John Tully maps which help a lot, but I would still like to hear your opinions.

Cheers

Salla - what type of detector are you going to use? or are you panning?

Sry, about that - should have mentioned it.

I have a Garrett Infinium with 2 DD and 2 Mono Coils. No panning.

When in the hills of chewton keep in mind lots have been there
before you so keep trying to get the coil over ground that others may not have.
Walk in a gully or 3 and go slow and steady and good luck :)
Old dry riverbeds may be a place to look perhaps :)
