That's the go Billy, get it out there and dirty. Looks right at home there amongst the bush and mullock heaps.

Glad you guys are happy with them :)

Northern Gold, Dry blowers like the ones I make use the Vibramatic principle where air (from a leaf blower) spins a fan with a weight attached to it. When the fan spins the weight induces a vibration to the riffle box which acts as a shaking type action. At the same time the air passes through a fabric of cotton and nylon and keeps the dirt above it in and 'fluidised' state much like water in a sluice which helps heavies (gold) to settle down and get caught on the up side of the riffles. The air through fabric also creates a static charge in the fabric which latches on to fine gold. Have a google on youtube and you will see them in action, have a look at Bellows type dry washers too. :)

The last trx pinpointer in captivity from goldsearch. :D

Awesome service and they expressed it to me no drama.

Just a little excited, hurry up postman!

Thanks MJB. It's an interesting approach that i have never considered before but might come in handy up my neck of the woods.

Walked past this on the shelves today, looks like it is100% borax. What I don't know is this the borax powder used to stop your fine gold blowing away when you melt it with a blowtorch? I hope I havn't just purchased something that is only good to clean the toilet bowl. :8

hey wally.... i purchased something similar two years ago it wasn't like the borax i purchased with my kiln. Make sure you grab some sodium carbonate as well which helps the flux form a liquid state and makes for a much cleaner easier to bond and pour melt. Ive found that borax by itself doesn't allow the gold to fully be protected when in a fluid state so you get fast oxidation which is ugly. 30/70 soda ash/borax is a good mix and always pours very well for me.

heres one i did last week, about 17.75 grams of fines

That will work wally and the mix that golddigga has left. Sodium carbonate is in safeway near laundry powders.. sometimes called Washing Soda, Soda Ash, Lectric Soda. Get the powder form not hydrous which is wet.

If you have kids, borax makes slime, bouncy balls and gak putty :D

 Thanks guys, I am keen for that first button. :p

Mine will be a teeny-tiny one but it has been an objective to work my own gold into something for the Mrs since I started prospecting ............. slime or bouncy balls for the kids... ..tell me more.

Got it at bunnings
