Hi Treasureman, Yeah the leaf gold is natural and is almost the most common form of gold at a couple big areas south of Georgetown. As it moves down slope and along creeks it is folded and mangled and being thin it breaks into smaller pieces easily. I am keen to find some info on its host rock. Seeing the big quartz reefs and shale bedrock in the area I suspect the gold formed in thin sheets along closely spaced bedding planes in a shale adjacent to major gold bearing quartz reefs that intruded up through the shales. I will try find some geo reports on its occurrence.
Cheers RDD
