No. garnet normally has a strongly conchoidal fracture pattern. Ruby has conchoidal. Zircon has conchoidal to uneven. Not a diagnostic feature to separate them.Pat Hogen said:Does garnet fracture in a conchoidal pattern? I thought it chipped clean along a line.
