She's had a few more mods, and has a few more kms on her since these pics

Isolation I have the same bike with performance and suspension mods and do the same as you some times , that picture looks similar to Sunny corner not far from me , are you near Bathurst, Peel ,area by any chance.

Ha ha... same here. Full suspension upgrade, Barrett exhaust with the DIY carby/airbox power mods.
Yeah that's Sunny alright :D :Y:

The cheapest way is to get a powered mountain-bike , I've built heaps of these in the past using older bikes & cheap Chinese 2stroke motor kits .
For transport use a standard bike holder that fits on your car tow bar .
Things to know !

1. You need to get a rear sprocket 56 , not the 44 they supply ' any lower will be hopeless for off road use .
2. The chain tension-er supplied in the kits is rubbish & dangerous , make your own .
3. Buy your kit from a reputable supplier who sells half descent quality .
4. Check all the bolt tensions & every thing else as they will be out for sure .

The photo above is of the last two I built , still have the best one , notice the shock absorber shaft under the wide seat .

Just another option :)

I am not sure what the rules are now but last time I looked in my state anything over 200 watts or something has to be a registered vehicle. 200 watts though is frankly pathetic and barley enough to make up for the extra weight of battery and motor. Interestingly you can fit a petrol engine that puts out a 1000 watts equivilent but then you might as well just get yourself a motorbike. Overseas they often allow well over 1000 watts for electric motors which makes an electric bicycle a real alternative to using a car. I have seen electric scooters humming along pretty well in this country, not sure what the rules are there. If money was no object I would get one of these :p

I had a trial ride of a friends electric mountain bike. Just like a normal bike but motorised. It had a heap of power. The power was adjustable by a handle bar controller. Like a gear selector which it also had. All you had to do was peddle about one rotation and the motor kicked in. So all you had to do was peddle now and again. However if going up a steep climb you'd have to constantly pedal slowly. I thought about overriding the motor controller so it was permanently on.
Even thought about trying to find a second hand Aust Post electric bike. The posties are now using them widely in stead of the motorised postie bikes.
An electric mountain bike is certainly a consideration.

Unfortunately, E-scooters are gutless when it comes to hills.... https://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2018/07/i_took_an_electric_scooter_on.html
The original Go-Ped's (electric scooters) only failing was hills but they somewhat fixed that with better gearing, power supply and engines. If your traveling from car to creek, perhaps a 2-stroke go ped with a trailer is what you need? I've used one and they are fun, the Riot and Trail Ripper are the off road versions of the commuter models. They have front and suspension and bigger wheels than the commuting versions (petrol, electric and propane), yes California requires them to run off propane........
Food for thought. http://goped.com/riot/

Just a thought, Do you think the greenies will like us riding motorcycles ( big or small ) in their bush ?

They would absolutely love it! It would give them something else to complain about, we all know how the greenies love the smell of two-stroke on the weekend!
In Victoria it doesn't matter what you drive/ride, no bush bashing allowed. You are supposed to stay on the tracks.

I second the e-bike idea. Theyre pretty awesome and you can get many hours out of the battery - use the power to get you up the hills.

Also, some of my friends do bike packing, which is mountain biking and camping. They tend to run a 1 wheeled trailer (which looks more like a skateboard deck) that attaches to the seat post for their heavier stuff.

Who mentioned "bush bashing"? I said from car to creek which can sometimes be a good long walk and if towing the little trailer, no one is going "bush bashing". The GoPed is a fun little run around that will get you and your gear from A to B and fold down to fit in the boot of the car or on to the back of the ute. I've used one to ride out with a chainsaw in its case to cut firewood where I didn't want to take the car, cart back three loads of wood for the fire. I put buckets, sluices, pans sides and shovel on the trailer held down with bungee cords and motored along the creek or along the track to where I can set up and pan.

These little scooters aren't made to smash through the scrub, but rather to take you down a goat track to that special spot where you intend to spend a few hours chasing the yellow!

Redfin. The far left (alternate socialists) 'greenies' will always be there, they charge from one failed cause to another like modern day Don Quixote, they are out of touch with reality and fail to see that they only make sense to their particular clique. Pandering to them by attempting to placate them only empowers them..... Their useless policy of no winter burning and no cutting back the verge on roads was a major contributor to the 173 deaths in the Black Saturday fires. Just remind them of that when they get in your face and see how far and how fast they backpedal. The Greens and their idiot supporters don't like to be reminded of their mistakes, harass them when they harass you.

You should remind them just who caused the 'ecological' damage during the 'gold rush' of the 1840's to 1850's, the Chinese who followed the Europeans and settled into as spot after the Europeans left. The Chinese family gangs stripped the soil to the bedrock and washed what they dug up in the streams, their impact can still be seen today! Ask the Greens to show the same damage done by European miners? Ask them to show you where in Australia hydraulic mining for gold, using a 'Monitor' is taking place? Ask them for the scientific proof of turbidity produced by weekend fossickers destroying waterways? Educate them then tell them to sod off.

Now, I still think the GoPed is a great little machine to use in the bush and if the greenies don't like the smell of two-stroke, by the Propane version, its certified for use by the legislators running the dingbat state of California!
