Hi all.

Firstly I'm new at this and have just purchased a master hunter 7 on which I was told that it had been refurbished. I went today to give it go in the bush, Yes I did find metal, but every time the cable going to the search coil was moved whether be by a stick of some grass it goes off, it also does the same when moving the cable by hand at both ends.

Also the metre on top tells me I'm on silver when I'm over a 1932 penny??? Any help would be appreciated

Cheers Ado

Tape the cable to the shaft. My GMT does a similar thing in certain circumstances and taping the cable to the shaft so it doesn't move cured it.

Cheers
Mick

I bought some velcro cables off eBay a while back (cost around $6-$7 for a pack from memory) and use them to affix the cable to the shaft. This way they can be easily removed and added as needed.
