Hi All, I'm another victim infected with gold fever after watching hundreds of hours of gold tv shows, Outback opal hunters and many more.
I'm interested in geology and anything gold or gem associated.

Hi Goldfever007. Welcome.
My daughter lives down in Venus so know it quite well. My most recent effort was an eel out of the Tarwin.
As far as gold you are located quite a long way from premium nugget hunting goldfields such as the Golden Triangle although nearby Foster was built around a gold field and Turtons Creek in the South Gippsland hills has produced some good nuggets according to old accounts. I have not done any detecting or access research for either so that’s about all I can say.
The closest place I have detected nuggets would be in the goldfields north of Drouin but they are also very overgrown.
